Canine Behaviour Consultation

2 hour housecall consultation

Behavioural consultations are for dogs that are fearful, anxious or otherwise not neurotypical. We may not know this until after a consultation or even a few sessions.

In a behavioural consult we go through:

  • Your dog’s complete history. This will include defining the problem behaviours and emotions, and the events that trigger them.

  • Forming a diagnosis or possible diagnoses.

  • Working with you to determine the aim/s of treatment.

  • Teaching you how to read your dog’s body language and how dogs learn.

  • Forming a management plan to avoid events/objects/people that trigger your dog’s behaviour.

  • Teaching you how to change your dog’s emotional state and give them coping strategies.

  • Organising revisits or referral to a specialist until we have achieved our goals.

  • Breaking your training goals into small achievable steps.
